Hosting a Workshop
Our City workshops inspire students by providing an insight to a world they rarely see and often regard as out of their reach.
What exactly does ‘Hosting' mean?Most often it will simply mean that you allow our experienced staff to bring a small group of students in to one of your meeting rooms to take part in an afternoon workshop. You can get more involved if you like by providing volunteers and speakers or even running a sector focussed workshop yourself. What sort of students will attend?Students between the ages of 14 and 19 come to our City programmes. Schools are free to choose which students attend. They may have specific interest in the City, be studying business or have another clear reason to be chosen, but our workshops can widen the horizons of a broad range of students. What's the benefit to you?Raising your company's profile and a chance for some excellent PR, with a minimum cost to you (usually we ask for a room and a few volunteers to help with part of the session). You can also use the opportunity to develop your staff through volunteering rather than spending money on expensive training courses. You'll be surprised how much an employee can learn about themselves while being quizzed by an eager Year 10 student! What's the benefit to the students?By widening their horizons and helping them understand the options open to them they can make better, more informed decisions about their future. Finding out about the potential rewards of a bit of hard work can help them refocus and achieve more at school. |
