Volunteering

Our work with employers underpins everything we do. Volunteers work with young people through workshops, masterclasses, mentoring programmes and networking events to help them develop their communications, self-awareness and teamwork skills.

Host a workshop

Each year we run over 300 workshops in host companies across London to provide students with the opportunity of visiting a business.

At each session volunteers are crucial for really bringing the world of work to life. Through sharing their knowledge and experiences, the volunteers help our young people to able to break down their perceptions of 'City workers' and understand that the people working in big corporations are just like them.

Workshops are really easy to host with each session being fully facilitated by The Brokerage team. Volunteers take part for up to an hour by being interviewed by the students, taking a tour around the company offices, leading a presentation activity or providing feedback through mock interviews.

"I wanted to pass on our huge thanks to you for a terrific City Careers Open House today. All our volunteers found the experience very enjoyable and rewarding and we hope that the pupils and staff of Stockwell Primary did too." Partner, Morrison & Foerster (UK) LLP

With up to four sessions a day during term time, there is plenty of scope to get involved. Please get in touch to find out more.

Deliver a masterclass

We run masterclasses for our young people to give them insight into various industries. We're always looking for volunteers to deliver these masterclasses, providing the next generation with knowledge on the various careers available and just what they involve. What better way for a young person to learn than actually hearing about it from someone in that position.

“Careers in insurance and risk management"

"An introduction to derivatives"
