Working in the City

Funded by The Worshipful Company of International Bankers (WCIB), this is The Brokerage’s flagship workshop programme for schools and colleges in London and has been running for over 10 years. Hosted by companies based in the City and Canary Wharf, Working in the City gives students an insight into the world of work in financial, professional and related businesses.

Working in the City is a two part programme, with each workshop also available as a standalone. Part one allows students to find out more about the City and the roles available. They will be given the chance to interview employees about their careers and responsibilities and gain a useful and realistic understanding of what it takes to be successful.

Part two focuses on developing students’ self-awareness, strengthening their employability skills and preparing them for the interview process. Here, employees will interview students and give them useful feedback and practice for their future.

These workshops are open to students in Year 10 through to Year 13 from schools across all London boroughs. Each workshop is tailored to fit the needs of the group.
