Host a workshop
Each year we run over 300 workshops in host companies across London to provide students with the opportunity of visiting a business.
Working with our education team, many firms provide meeting rooms, refreshments and staff volunteers to enable us to deliver our aspiration-raising workshops that we offer for free to state schools from many of London’s most disadvantaged boroughs.
At each session volunteers are crucial for really bringing the world of work to life. Through sharing their knowledge and experiences, the volunteers help our young people to able to break down their perceptions of ‘City workers’ and understand that the people working in big corporations are just like them.
Workshops are really easy to host with each session being fully facilitated by The Brokerage team. Volunteers take part for up to an hour by being interviewed by the students, taking a tour around the company offices, leading a presentation activity or providing feedback through mock interviews.
“I wanted to pass on our huge thanks to you for a terrific City Careers Open House today. All our volunteers found the experience very enjoyable and rewarding and we hope that the pupils and staff of Stockwell Primary did too.” Partner, Morrison & Foerster (UK) LLP
With up to four sessions a day during term time, there is plenty of scope to get involved. Please get in touch to find out more.
