The Impact Report highlights our work connecting young Londoners with employers. In the extract below, we explain our mission and the progress we've made towards meeting the 5 aims of our 3-year plan...

Our mission is to work with young people to raise aspirations, create access and provide opportunities within financial, professional and related services to achieve diversity in the workplace.

Research suggests that the more interactions young people have with employers, the more likely they are to be successful in the world of work (Anthony Mann, 2014). To this end, we work in partnership with leading London businesses to provide experiences and paid work for state-educated young people, helping them to compete for jobs on a level playing field.

Our 2016-2019 strategic aims - progress made in 2017

Aim: Help young people from non-advantaged backgrounds
Progress: Engaged 4,026 young people who are in state education/free school meal eligible/first generation in family to go to university.

Aim: Meet the diversity, recruitment and inclusion needs of employers
Progress: Delivered three pipeline programmes with 72 young people placed into paid opportunities.

Aim: Extend our reach geographically
Progress: Launched new programmes working exclusively with 5 deprived outer London boroughs.

Aim: Focus on businesses related to professional and financial services
Progress: 6 new partnerships developed with companies working in PR, property and technology.
