Introduction to Working Life

Introduction to Working Life

These one-day workshops offer an exciting opportunity for Year 6 pupils to gain valuable insights into the working world. With a focus on raising aspirations, all workshops take place at a corporate firm and explore the career opportunities available in financial, professional and related services.

Introduction to Working Life

Thanks to funding from The Nomura Charitable Trust, these sessions are available for state schools in the London boroughs of Enfield and Lewisham.

Key highlights of the session include:

  • An interactive introduction to the host business. Pupils learn about different sectors with a digital quiz, practise business presentation skills and participate in a small team challenge.
  • A guided tour of the office (where available), with insight into the different departments within the business.
  • The chance to meet employees and learn about their roles, careers and aspirations first-hand.
  • A team challenge which promotes a range of skills, including teamwork, problem-solving, creativity and presentation techniques.

  • Before The Brokerage gave a presentation at my school, I didn’t even know what an internship was. I just thought it was something that university students do. Fast forward a few months and here I am, working in the heart of London.
