Insuring my Future: school leavers explore apprenticeships in insurance!
10 Mar 17

On 6th March, we kick-started National Apprenticeship Week 2017 by holding a joint event with The Chartered Insurance Institute and The Worshipful Company of Insurers entitled, Ensuring my Future: Apprenticeships in Risk and Insurance.

Held at Insurance Hall, the room was buzzing as over a hundred young people, employers and insurance professionals came together to explore the variety of opportunities within this industry.

To uni or not to uni? No doubt this was on the minds of many school leavers in the room. Just how do they decide which route is for them?

The purpose of this event was to help with exactly that, allowing the students to speak with industry experts and recent apprentices, so they can make well informed decisions when considering the various routes to their chosen career.

The interactive day consisted of panel presentations, speed networking with current apprentices and a networking lunch – the perfect opportunity for the sixth formers to speak to the professionals and find out if an apprenticeship in the insurance industry could be for them.

Faye Adamou, an apprentice at Lloyd’s, told of her amazingly valuable experience throughout her apprenticeship journey, hoping to inspire the young people in the room.
