We’ve had a busy first month of 2020 and wanted to share some of the fantastic things we’ve been doing.

January was all about mentoring for us… we launched three new mentoring programmes with some amazing companies in different sectors!  Moving Up is our exciting new programme with Miller Insurance; students in year 13 are being mentored by members of the firm and working towards applying for the Miller Apprenticeship scheme. Year 12 students are exploring the world of law through Career Start with Charles Russell Speechlys whilst a group of year 12 students from St. Angela’s Ursuline School in Forest Gate, are working with Facebook on the Elevate Mentoring Programme to explore the technology sector. January also saw students graduate from the Reed Smith Mentoring Programme, with students giving insightful presentations on a wide range of topics from Australian bushfires to shark finning, psychology experiments to the pros and cons of hosting the football World Cup.

We’ve also been busy on the workshop front, with our superb education team delivering 10 workshops across the City with almost 250 students; thanks to Allen & Overy, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, Deutsche Bank, Markel, Nomura, Randall & Quilter and UBS for hosting!

January also saw us launch an exciting new partnership with PIMFA (Personal Investment Managers & Financial Advisors Association) at the House of Commons. This partnership will allow us to work with PIMFA and their members, to support their diversity and inclusion agendas making the financial advice sector more accessible.

This amazing month builds on all the work we have done so far this academic year, we’ve worked with 76 schools and almost 4,000 students… we can’t wait to see what February brings!
