The Brokerage Careers Conference 2024: A Day of Inspiration and Skill-Building.
On 20th November The Brokerage hosted its annual Careers Conference 2024 at Fidelis Partnership in London, bringing together over 60 talented young people from underrepresented backgrounds for a day of professional development, networking, and inspiration. With the invaluable support of Fidelis, this flagship event delivered hands-on workshops and powerful insights from industry experts, preparing the next generation for success in financial, professional, and related services (FPRS) careers.

Key Moments from the Day:
- Workshop: Application Skills – This interactive session, led by Brokerage staff and supported by volunteers, gave candidates a deep dive into the art of writing strong CVs and cover letters. Business volunteers worked closely with small groups, offering guidance on tailoring applications to specific roles.
- Workshop: Interview Skills – Candidates had the chance to participate in mock interviews with business professionals, gaining immediate feedback and learning how to communicate their strengths effectively. Volunteers helped guide candidates through competency and strengths-based questions, providing insights on personal branding and interview techniques.
- Workshop: Navigating the Workplace – Focused on understanding company culture and effective workplace communication, this session gave candidates practical experience through real-world scenarios. Volunteers helped guide discussions on how to approach professional challenges.
- Keynote Address: Benjamin Basson The Brokerage candidate and now Alumni spoke openly and honestly about his journey through the programme and offered some nuggets of knowledge to inspire our current candidates.
