About us Our team Our team Senior management team Katerina Rudiger, Chief Executive Officer (on maternity leave)Katerina joined The Brokerage as Chief Executive Officer in June 2019 from CIPD, the professional body for HR where she set up and ran their community investment and campaigns function. Katerina developed employer campaigns on youth employment and large scale volunteering and mentoring programmes, matching HR professionals with jobseekers and schools. She started her career in research and policy, working on skills and employment issues for think tanks and government bodies in the UK and Brussels. Katerina is passionate about creating a better and fairer world of work. She is excited by The Brokerage’s potential to be a key catalyst for change at scale when it comes to social mobility, as well as The Brokerage itself as a great place to work. Email Katerina Sally Bateson, Interim Chief Executive Officer Sally is an experienced charity director and fundraising consultant. She spent 8 years as a Managing Consultant at Compton Fundraising, before setting up her own consultancy in 2017. Her clients have included The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, West London Zone for Children and Young People and Royal Trinity Hospice. Sally’s earlier career was spent in fundraising and marketing, working with charities including Age UK, Whizz Kidz and The Duchess of York’s charity, Children in Crisis. Sally specialises in launching and delivering campaigns to achieve growth in profile, income and impact. Email Sally Kieron Lock, Senior Programme ManagerHaving joined The Brokerage in July 2016, Kieron oversees a range of initiatives aimed at Year 12 and 13 students and undergraduates, including Fast Track, the Summer Placement Programme and bespoke programmes. He also has responsibility for the design and delivery of Year 12 mentoring programmes. Kieron has extensive experience within the education sector, having worked as a history teacher, learning resource centre manager and teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools across London. Email Kieron Tom Slatter, Senior Programme Manager (education and impact)Having previously worked as a secondary school teacher, Tom now leads The Brokerage’s education programmes and impact measurement. He liaises closely with schools, organising and leading workshops at top firms in the City and London’s financial districts to give young people insights into career opportunities. One of his favourite activities to lead is The Trading Game, an interactive stock market simulation. The best part of his job is seeing young people progress into paid roles. Email Tom Programmes team Jennifer Hien, Programme Manager (talent development) Jennifer joined The Brokerage in January 2020 as a Programme Manager, bringing with her an extensive background in education and youth focused initiatives. Her passion lies in helping young people to realise their potential, most recently having worked as a teacher in South Korea - alongside which she led volunteer programmes benefiting local non-profit organisations. Jennifer is excited to join The Brokerage and continue supporting and creating meaningful opportunities for young people, now in her hometown of London. At The Brokerage, Jennifer manages the Summer Placement Programme, helping young people gain crucial insight and experience of the working world, as well as other programmes targeted at Year 12 and 13 students and undergraduates throughout the year. Email Jennifer Jane Burrows, Programme Administrator (talent development)Jane joined The Brokerage in October 2019 as a Programme Administrator, with a background in charities and the not-for-profit sector. Jane recently worked for a leading youth charity helping disadvantaged young people access programmes, from work experience to setting up a business. Jane is looking forward to continuing to support young people into their careers, this time with a focus on financial, professional and related services. Email Jane Oris Ikomi, Programme Manager (education)Oris is a talent and business development professional, with a background in leading talent engagement programmes for top global brands. He loves connecting people and empowering individuals to realise their potential. Email Oris Katie Rabot, Programme Manager (education) Katie is a Programme Manager, with a varied professional background. After graduating from the University of Leicester with a degree in History, Katie worked for a youth charity based in South East London, running intervention programmes for disadvantaged young people in schools across London. Katie then moved into publishing, where she edited Psychology books and ignited her passion to understand and help people - leading her to take on a masters in Psychology. While studying for a masters, Katie worked part-time as a Campaign Manager for the Liberal Democrats in the 2019 General Election before joining The Brokerage. Katie is looking forward to returning to working with young people and helping them begin their careers in the financial, professional and related services. Email Katie. Eri Arakawa, Programme Administrator (education)Eri joined The Brokerage in January 2019 as a Programme Administrator, bringing with her a wide variety of experience from finance, pharmaceutical, healthcare PR and, most recently, at a children’s reading charity. As a born and bred Londoner from an ethnic minority, Eri is passionate about supporting young people regardless of their background and is looking forward to making a difference to the next generation. Email Eri Partnerships and marketing team Susheel Sharma, Partnerships Manager Before joining The Brokerage, Susheel worked in schools in the Black Country and London in a careers and enrichment capacity. Susheel joined The Brokerage in 2018 as a Programme Manager; amongst other programmes she oversaw the Summer Placement Internship Programme, working with both students and employers in the City. Susheel has recently become The Brokerage’s Partnership’s Manager, and is responsible for developing partnerships with corporate partners to provide opportunities for our amazing young people and to support companies build the workforce of tomorrow. Email Susheel Josie Taylor, Partnerships and Fundraising OfficerJosie joined The Brokerage in January 2019. Josie graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in international development. Since graduating, she has gained experience with education charities abroad, including an internship with Street Child of Nepal. During this time she realised she wanted to shift her focus to helping non-advantaged young people within London. Josie’s responsibilities at The Brokerage include building relationships with key partners to help secure opportunities for our young people and compiling funding bids for trusts and foundations. Email Josie Claire Taylor-Harris, Marketing and Communications Adviser Having held a number of senior marketing and development roles including at Bupa and Lloyds Pharmacy, Claire joined the Brokerage in 2019 to oversee marketing and communications. She has extensive experience of managing marketing teams, delivering campaigns and managing all communications activity. She is excited about joining an organisation with such a strong purpose, ability to support so many young people and create genuine change. Email Claire Sessional workers Karen Rosen, Sessional WorkerKaren Rosen joined The Brokerage in February 2018. She has a law degree from the University of Southern California and has worked in the education sector for over 20 years, at a university, in charities and museums. She enjoys working with young people, helping them to reach their potential. At The Brokerage, Karen helps to raise aspirations of young people by delivering workshops to introduce them to the various career opportunities available within financial, professional and related services. Teresa Reynolds, Sessional WorkerTeresa is a qualified youth work professional specialising in delivering workshops, talks and mentoring to young people. She has worked with more than 2,000 young people in London and the south of England and has 12 years of experience in the youth sector. Selina Brown, Sessional WorkerSelina is an accomplished faciltator with over 5 years’ experience of delivering and writing workshops/courses within the corporate and creative field. She is passionate about empowering individuals through creativity and has created innovative workshops for vulnerable adults and young people focussing on building their self-esteem to enable their inner voice.
