About us Our team Our team Senior management team Bridget Gardiner, executive director Bridget's career spans the private, public and voluntary sectors. She has been director of fundraising and marketing at both Richard House Children’s Hospice in east London and Epilepsy Society, the leading medical and research charity for epilepsy in the UK. Bridget joined The Brokerage in January 2015 as executive director and is responsible for strategic planning, awareness raising and income generation, as well as overseeing governance, finance and managing The Brokerage staff team. Email Bridget Rosa Morgan-Baker, head of partnershipsRosa joined The Brokerage in October 2012. After managing a range of programmes on our programmes team, she joined the senior management team in October 2015 and was made head of partnerships and income generation in April 2016. Rosa works closely with companies to help build their HR and CSR programmes to attract and support young people from non-advantaged backgrounds. Her favourite part of her role is seeing how inspired young people are after meeting volunteers at our partner companies. Email Rosa Programmes team Kate Suart, relationship manager, Lloyd's Community ProgrammeKate loves connecting companies and talented young people. Her role involves introducing young people to opportunities within the Lloyd's market and the wider insurance market through masterclasses, pipeline programmes, mentoring programmes and placements. One of the best parts of her job is hearing how our candidates have impressed prospective employers with their passion, creativity and willingness to learn. Kate joined The Brokerage in April 2016 from Future Foundations, where she was senior project and development manager.Email Kate Kieron Lock, senior programme manager Having joined The Brokerage in July 2016, Kieron oversees a range of initiatives aimed at Year 12 and 13 students and undergraduates, including Fast Track, the Summer Placement Programme and bespoke programmes. He also has responsibility for the design and delivery of Year 12 mentoring programmes. Kieron has extensive experience within the education sector, having worked as a history teacher, learning resource centre manager and teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools across London. Email Kieron Susheel Sharma, programme managerSusheel joined The Brokerage in December 2018 as a programme manager. Since graduating from university at Birmingham City University where she studied marketing and economics, Susheel has worked at schools in the Black Country and North London, in a careers and enrichment capacity. She loves seeing students go out of their comfort zones and embracing new, potentially life changing opportunities. At The Brokerage, Susheel manages the Summer Placement Programme, helping young people gain crucial insight and experience of the working world, as well as other programmes targeted at Year 12 and 13 students and undergraduates throughout the year. Email Susheel Tom Slatter, senior programme manager (education and impact)Having previously worked as a secondary school teacher, Tom now leads The Brokerage’s education programmes and impact measurement. He liaises closely with schools, organising and leading workshops at top firms in the City and London’s financial districts to give young people insights into career opportunities. One of his favourite activities to lead is The Trading Game, an interactive stock market simulation. The best part of his job is seeing young people progress into paid roles. E-mail Tom Steven Champion, programme managerSteven joined The Brokerage in January 2019, having previously worked for a leading financial education charity where he helped build a nationwide financial education and behaviour change programme for primary aged children. A qualified teacher and former City-based recruitment consultant, Steven now looks forward to managing the suite of school programmes at The Brokerage and working across sectors in the City to help young people mobilise their talent. Email Steven Eri Arakawa, programme administratorEri joined The Brokerage in January 2019 as a programme administrator, bringing with her a wide variety of experience from finance, pharmaceutical, healthcare PR and, most recently, at a children’s reading charity. As a born and bred Londoner from an ethnic minority, Eri is passionate about supporting young people regardless of their background and is looking forward to making a difference to the next generation. Email Eri Partnerships and marketing team Joanne Turrell, marketing and communications managerJo joined The Brokerage in May 2016, having graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in Marketing, Communications & Advertising in 2015. Jo makes it her business to spread word of The Brokerage far and wide, championing our successes (there are many!) and raising awareness via our website, the media and social media. She also takes the lead on fundraising and looks after our alumni community. Email Joanne Josie Taylor, partnerships and fundraising officerJosie joined The Brokerage in January 2019. Josie graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in international development. Since graduating, she has gained experience with education charities abroad, including an internship with Street Child of Nepal. During this time she realised she wanted to shift her focus to helping non-advantaged young people within London. Josie’s responsibilities at The Brokerage include building relationships with key partners to help secure opportunities for our young people. Email Josie Sessional workers Helen McKay-Ferguson, sessional workerHelen first joined The Brokerage in 2017 as a short-term content writer, helping the charity with key projects, including the launch of its website and 2016/17 Impact Report. As well as being an avid writer, Helen is also a primary school teacher and, having taught in schools across North London, has had the privilege of working with some very talented young people from diverse backgrounds.Helen began delivering workshop sessions for The Brokerage in 2017, helping to raise aspirations of non-advantaged young Londoners. Karen Rosen, sessional workerKaren Rosen joined The Brokerage in February 2018. She has a law degree from the University of Southern California and has worked in the education sector for over 20 years, at a university, in charities and museums. She enjoys working with young people, helping them to reach their potential. At The Brokerage, Karen helps to raise aspirations of young people by delivering workshops to introduce them to the various career opportunities available within financial, professional and related services. Abigail Julian, sessional workerAbi began delivering workshops for The Brokerage in October 2018. Having worked for The Brokerage as a programme manager from 2010 until 2013, Abi is delighted to continue working with the charity to help raise aspirations of young Londoners. Abi, who has worked for charities at home and abroad, has a strong interest in projects working with young people on the subject of careers development, diversity and fair access.
