The Brokerage has been writing a story we are proud of for the past 30 years, one where over 90,000 young people have had the chance to grow, succeed, and belong. As we continue our celebrations surrounding Social Mobility Day 2026 - We are proud of our story and the contribution we make towards making the UK socially mobile.
Over the coming months, we’ll be shining a spotlight on what The Brokerage has helped make possible over the last 30 years and more importantly, on the achievements of the young people who have journeyed through our programmes.

We’ll be sharing stories of confidence built, careers launched and futures shaped, alongside celebrating the 4,000+ placements we have helped facilitate and the 350+ companies we have partnered with who may otherwise have missed out on exceptional and diverse talent.
We’ll also be recognising the hundreds of volunteers who have shared their time, knowledge and experience - people without whom our life-changing programmes simply would not have been possible.
Behind every number is a person. A first networking event. A conversation that built confidence. A mentor who shared their experience. A placement, internship or opportunity that changed a future.
We are kicking off our 3030 campaigns with a story from Darryl.

Before Darryl joined The Brokerage Talent Network, he had:
• Limited knowledge of professional careers
• No established professional network
• No clear pathway as to what, where and how to carve out the right career path for him

Darryl:
Completed a successful placement year at Citi Group that he secured via The Brokerage
Because of his experience at Citi Group, went on to secure a place on Bloomberg’s graduate programme.
Now works in Singapore for a large Fintech provider.
Became a valued volunteer and supporter of The Brokerage charity.
Darryl said:
“The Brokerage gave me a stepping stone into the city and helped me learn what the city has to offer. By learning about the financial markets, the departments inside an Investment Bank and the roles available, I was able to make a more informed decision when leaving university and deciding where to start my career.”
“Where are you now in 2026?
“Right now, I’m in Singapore and have been since October 2020. I’m still working in the FinTech industry, currently at FIS - a large American fintech provider that facilitates the movement of $9 trillion through 75 billion transactions, serving 20,000 clients and 1 million merchant locations in some 130 countries.
“I remember taking part in CV workshops, mock interview sessions, and careers talks, both on the side of participant and eventually as a mentor.”
We'd like to thank Darryl for taking the time be part of our 3030 campaign and hope this goes on to inspire other candidates ready to start their early career journey with The Brokerage.
