Interim CEO appointed at The Brokerage

The Board of Trustees has appointed Tom Slatter as Interim Chief Executive of The Brokerage.

Tom has been with The Brokerage since 2016 and brings extensive experience across our education, talent and impact work. Over the past ten years he has led programme management, impact and insights, and brings a 25 year background in teaching and social mobility charities.


His experience and longstanding commitment to our mission ensure strong continuity for the organisation at an important moment.


Commenting on his appointment, Tom said:


“Working with young people like Brokerage candidates is the most energising thing you can do with your day. We are here to help young people develop the skills, confidence and networks to match their ambition and determination, supported by our dedicated volunteers, employers and partner organisations. I am proud to continue this work as Interim CEO and to support our mission of creating pathways into meaningful careers for talented young people.”

The Board of Trustees added:

We are pleased to appoint Tom Slatter as Interim CEO and look forward to working with him to ensure continuity, stability and sustained impact for the young people we support. His experience and leadership will be invaluable as we navigate the next phase of our work and strengthen our partnerships with employers, volunteers and supporters”

The Board will shortly begin the process of recruiting a permanent Chief Executive and will keep stakeholders updated as this progresses. In the meantime, our strategic priorities remain unchanged: widening access to professional careers, deepening employer partnerships, strengthening our impact model, and supporting more young people to access high-quality career pathways. We encourage partners, volunteers and supporters to continue engaging with Tom and the team as we work together to expand opportunity. The Brokerage remains committed to building a more equitable, diverse and inclusive workforce.
