The Brokerage appoints new CEO

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Slatter as our new permanent CEO.

Tom has been with The Brokerage for 10 years, working across programme delivery and impact management, before taking on the interim CEO in early 2026. His experience and longstanding commitment to our mission ensure The Brokerage will be able to continue it’s mission of brokering connections for young people with the world of work.

Tom said:

“Right now, there are more young people not in education, employment or training than there have been for over a decade. There’s an urgent need to make sure everyone has the networks and connections needed to begin their career, regardless of their background.

“Having spent ten years working with and learning from Brokerage candidates, I know they have the talent and drive businesses need. I know that coming from a lower socioeconomic background doesn’t make you disadvantaged – it gives you strength and qualities that others might not have. 

"I’m looking forward to working with The Brokerage team, our partners, our supporters and our young people to make sure those strengths and qualities are recognised and that no-one’s background holds them back when entering the workplace”

The Board of Trustees is delighted to confirm the appointment of Tom as CEO.

“Tom brings strong leadership, deep expertise and a longstanding commitment to social mobility. We are confident he will lead The Brokerage from strength to strength, and we look forward to working with Tom to grow our impact and create better futures for the young people we support.”

The Brokerage looks forward to continuing to work with our community to make sure social mobility happens and young people’s career destinations are the result of their ability and aspirations, not their background.
