Brit Insurance hosts exclusive insight day for sixth form students
We were delighted to work with global insurance company Brit Insurance this week to provide students in Year 12 and 13 with behind the scenes insight to the company, giving them a real taster of working life within the insurance sector.
With employee volunteers on-hand to answer the students’ questions about their day-to-day roles, Brit’s insight day allowed the young people to gain a true understanding of some of the people that work within the iconic Leadenhall Building, or as it’s better-known, the Cheese Grater.
It’s not every day a group students get to go up to the 39th floor and explore the world inside!
The day began with an introduction to the City and the careers found within financial and professional services companies, and, more specifically, the opportunities at Brit Insurance.
Eager to learn more, the students were taken on an exclusive tour of Lloyd’s where they witnessed the trading floor in action – something we’re certain they’ll remember for a long time!
Filled with much more knowledge of the insurance sector than when they arrived, realising there’s more to it than just phones and cars, the sixth formers discussed a real life catastrophe with volunteers from across the company.
The day came to a close with networking, a great chance for the students to gain last minute insight into the company and its career offering.
Thank you so much to all the volunteers who helped to paint a picture of the insurance sector for the young people, and to Brit for hosting the event.
If your company could host an insight day or development opportunities for our young people, we’d love to hear from you!
