Who we are

We are a social mobility charity committed to breaking the corporate mould.  We believe in equal access to opportunity irrespective of background or race, and talented young people getting the jobs they deserve in a world where their ability and aspiration alone determine their career path.

For nearly 25 years we have supported young people from working class and ethnic minority backgrounds achieve their career potential; providing opportunities and helping them take their first step into a professional career.   Our award winning programmes have helped thousands of talented young people.

We also work with employers to drive a culture shift in the workplace, helping them make meaningful change and include diverse talent irrespective of background or race.

Together, with our corporate partners, our alumni and our volunteers, we are Changemakers; every day we see the impact of our work and the life changing effect it has on thousands of young people each year.

We will provide paid placements, apprenticeship and permanent opportunities.

We will connect employers with our young people to provide access to a diverse talent pool and insight.

We will provide tools and practical guidance to help corporates integrate and retain the best talent, embedding lasting change.

We will help employers talk about race and change mindsets.


  • The team at The Brokerage have put together a very well thought out programme. They have even asked students to trial their content and have taken our thoughts into their consideration. All the modules will be really helpful to me because they target exactly what I am not sure about such as how to write a good CV and cover letter, and how to use LinkedIn most effectively. I think this has been a very beneficial opportunity to me; I can’t wait to start the programme!
