The Brokerage appoints new chair of trustees

6th April 2018

The Brokerage is pleased to announce the appointment of a new chair of trustees, Philip Grant.

Philip, who took over the position in March 2018, is an independent non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of Lloyd’s managing agent Argo.

With a background in insurance, Philip has held numerous senior management and advisory positions in the London insurance market.

As a charity that connects young people with employers in this and other financial sectors, we look forward to working alongside Philip and are excited about the wealth of knowledge and experience he brings.

Having been a trustee of The Brokerage since 2016, Philip is delighted to have even more involvement with the charity, both internally and externally, helping to connect even more young Londoners with employers.

Philip is a liveryman and a managing trustee of the Worshipful Company of Insurers.

Commenting on his new role with The Brokerage, Philip said:

I’m thrilled to take up this role and look forward to continuing to work with the excellent team at The Brokerage. The work they do to raise aspirations, create access and provide opportunities to young people from London’s state schools has never been more important or valuable, as employers increasingly recognise the benefits of accessing the deep and diverse pool of young talent that The Brokerage nurtures.”

  • The team at The Brokerage have put together a very well thought out programme. They have even asked students to trial their content and have taken our thoughts into their consideration. All the modules will be really helpful to me because they target exactly what I am not sure about such as how to write a good CV and cover letter, and how to use LinkedIn most effectively. I think this has been a very beneficial opportunity to me; I can’t wait to start the programme!
