Here are The Brokerage, we offer a variety of work experience opportunities with our partners. Their duration can be one day to 3 weeks but we often offer a 2 week IN PERSON work experience programmes .

They are usually open to 16-18 years olds but sometimes open to older candidates so make sure to read all the details of each opportunity. Although these won’t be paid, companies will provide lunch and travel expenses.

The purpose of a work experience scheme is to help young people develop knowledge of and skills relating to the world of work and will typically include:

  • Job shadowing
  • Networking opportunities allowing candidates to meet a variety of teams and employees
  • Learning and development sessions (such as introductions to the business and early careers job routes, or developing skills like CV writing)
  • Activities that develop their skills and knowledge in a work environment (for example having candidates prepare a pitch or report on a mock business task)

Step 2. Once you’ve signed up, providing you meet the eligibility criteria stated below, you’ll be invited to an online process for registrations. We’ll use this time to find out a little bit about you and discuss the programme in more detail.

Please note that to take part, you must:

  • Have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the past six years
    OR previous generations in your family haven’t attended university in the UK
  • Have attained grades 9-5 at GCSE English Literature, English Language and Maths
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
