Join us for an exciting panel and networking event on Moving Up in your career, taking place in the heart of the City. Hear from former candidates of The Brokerage on the careers they’ve developed, providing insights into the steps they’ve taken to get to where they are now.
At different stages of their careers, the panel members will share their experiences of the business world to motivate and inspire you to think about your own career development and the next steps you might want to take.
Following the panel discussion they’ll be time for drinks and networking, a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow City professionals and carry on conversations about career development.

Panel members you’ll hear from:
Deborah Igunma, Investment Banking Analyst, Citi
Deborah was first introduced to The Brokerage in 2017 through Momentum, a competitive female mentoring programme, and went on to be named winner of the programme’s business challenge. She secured a summer internship with global financial services company Citi as a result and has since been involved in several opportunities, including being the first Nottingham University student to attend Harvard University’s MBA insight programme, attending Princeton University, LSE and Otto Beisheim School of Management conferences. Deborah acquired mentorship from SB.TV owner Jamal Edwards for her project ‘Campus Cookoff’, after winning a competition led by ‘Job Today’. Very recently she was named #7 UK Future Leader by Powerful Media Ltd who profile the top 150 African and Caribbean students in the UK. Deborah also has had an array of work experiences including Google, Barclays, Fidelity International and much more. Upon acquiring a first class Philosophy degree in July 2019 she also secured a full time position as an Investment Banking Analyst at Citi.
Kofo Jatto, Senior Relationship Manager, Acuris
Kofo attended several events with The Brokerage, before going on to study Economics and French at the University of Sheffield with time studying abroad at the leading KEDGE Business School in France. Since graduating she has held several roles within financial media company Acuris progressing to her current role managing relationships between the UK and South Africa within Acuris’ Fixed Income Group.
Mohammed Marikar, Director, Intelligence & Automation, RBC Wealth Management
Mohammed started his financial career in 2004, securing a trainee position with UBS through The Brokerage. Whilst at university, Mohammed went back to UBS year after year before joining them full time when he graduated, progressing to become one of its youngest associate directors aged 23. In 2011 he moved to the Wealth Management division. Mohammed then went on to join Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in 2013, initially focused on data-driven wealth management sales, and progressed to set up RBC’s UK Artificial Intelligence Lab in 2016. He was appointed RBC Wealth Management’s Director of Intelligence & Automation the following year. In 2016, Mohammed became a member of The Brokerage’s board of trustees, allowing him to give back to the charity that helped him.
Sumit Paul, Management Liability Underwriter, CFC Underwriting
During the summer of 2012, Sumit secured an internship with insurance firm Tokio Marine Kiln through The Brokerage’s internship programme. Having been invited back to the company the following year for a second internship and subsequently a permanent role, Sumit was able to further develop his career within the insurance sector. Over the past seven years, he has completed a degree in physics at the University of Loughborough before holding a number of positions within leading insurance companies, moving to CFC Underwriting in recent months.
