RAE GEEP Graduation July 2024

Last week, The Brokerage celebrated our inspiring GEEP graduates with an opulent ceremony at the prestigious Institute of Directors, Pall Mall.

Delivery and Management of the programme

The Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme is an award-winning programme run in partnership with engineering employers, which aims to increase the transition of engineering graduates from diverse backgrounds into engineering employment. GEEP is delivered and managed by a consortium – RAE, TTP, The Brokerage and The Brightside.

Over the last eight years, more than 1300 students from over 70 universities have participated in the programme. The programme is a collaboration across industries, with over 300 volunteers from more than 50 companies participating since 2015.

2024 Graduation Ceremony

This celebration event brought together representatives from GEEP’S fantastic partner companies, brilliant mentors, and Dr Joshua Macabuag, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering as we celebrated the future of engineering in the UK!

Through engaging panel discussions, an insightful keynote speaker, and a lively networking reception, the day allowed graduates to meet their peers, network with future employers and reflect on how far they’ve come. We were so touched by the countless candidates who praised the programme and dedicated their ongoing career success to what they learned with GEEP.

“First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for all your help and hard work in order to make the programme a huge success.  I learned a lot from all of you and I will forever be thankful.” – Candidate

“This year’s Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP) has been an incredible experience, culminating in a graduation ceremony full of knowledge and opportunities.” – Candidate

“I am highly grateful to all the GEEP staff for arranging a fantastic programme resulting in improvement in my CV and interview skills.” – Candidate

“GEEP has not just helped me improve my application readiness skills, it has also helped me turn a bit more extrovert and improved my skills of approaching people and building networks” – Candidate

Inspiring Stories and Insightful Journeys

GEEP Case study 2024

Tirzah Velauthapillai is in her second year at Swansea University studying Aerospace Engineering. She got to know about GEEP from her university and found it was a great opportunity to prepare for
her career. She believes if one puts the right kind of efforts, the right kind of results will follow and that encouraged her to continue the GEEP journey.

GEEP provides job opportunities via partner companies, and Tirzah found an internship opportunity at the Royal Academy of Engineering and applied for it. For her application, she followed the guidance given
in the opportunity detail and information provided in the delegate pack booklet given to the candidates at the in-person GEEP Bootcamp. Her application was selected, and we are delighted that her interview was successful.

Tirzah said:

“Sometimes when talking to companies we feel they are bigger than us; we present in certain way or speak in certain way and in that process we forget what we actually wanted to say – so speak how you feel comfortable. Everyone’s personality is different and that difference is going to shine out.”
