1. How did The Brokerage support you?

The Brokerage helped me with changes to my CV and helped me to consider what additional information to include on a CV to help it stand out when applying for roles. They also helped me when I had received two offers for school leaver schemes and I had a call with my contact there to discuss the most suitable path for me to go down.

2. Please tell us about your career.

After leaving school with 3 A Levels, I started my career as a school leaver at Commerzbank, London.
I worked within the Trade Finance sales team as a Vocational Trainee before getting an Associate role in the Cash Management sales team, where I also had the opportunity to spend 3 months working in the Commerzbank Paris office. Whilst working and through Commerzbank’s partnership with the European College of Business and Management, I obtained a first class degree in Business Studies from the University of South Wales.
I left Commerzbank in 2019 and now work as an Associate Director in the Cash Management Sales team at Lloyds Bank.

3. What impact has The Brokerage had on your career?

It was a big decision deciding not to go down the path to university, but with the help of The Brokerage, I was able to gain the confidence in my choice and get my foot in the door in the banking world. I do believe that without the opportunity I was given at 18 I would not have been where I am today.

4. What advice can you give to young people currently registered with The Brokerage?

Take advantage of all that is on offer, we do best when we listen and learn from others and use the resources that are at our fingertips!
