Supporters compete in challenges to raise money for The Brokerage

Two separate challenges with equally exciting odds were taken on by our corporate partners, alumni members, friends and staff team as they helped support The Brokerage by raising money over the last few months.

The AJ Bell London Triathlon took place in August during the UK’s sweltering summer heatwave. Cameron, Ishan and Ben from Synechron as well as friends of The Brokerage and our own finance manager took part in a swim, cycle and run through London in thirty degree weather. The challenge was not for the faint hearted but participants representing our charity fought hard and ended with a smile on their face.

The Brokerage challenge fundraising

It was an equally tough time for participants running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October where our alumni members, former employees and representatives from Tokio Marine Kiln and CFC Underwriting took part in a 21 kilometre run through four of the Royal Parks.  All members, recognising their support for The Brokerage, kept on going as they pushed through the fatigue to end the half marathon on a high note. Well done to Amera, Vanessa, Jack, Henry, Joe and Tom.

All the sweat and aching that the participants had to endure cannot have been easy, but they’ve all done an incredible job. As a result of the challenges, over £4,000 has been raised for our charity, which is fantastic!

We want to give a huge congratulations to everyone who supported our charity in raising this money and awareness of our cause.

The money raised from these challenges will go towards our Employability Advice Service, which allows us to provide young people with one-to-one support in their pursuit of their ideal job. This is achieved through feedback on CVs and cover letters, mock interview practice or even a reassuring phone call.

If you’d also like to help raise money for The Brokerage through our challenge activities or by doing your own thing we’d love to hear from you! Find out how to fundraise for us.

  • The team at The Brokerage have put together a very well thought out programme. They have even asked students to trial their content and have taken our thoughts into their consideration. All the modules will be really helpful to me because they target exactly what I am not sure about such as how to write a good CV and cover letter, and how to use LinkedIn most effectively. I think this has been a very beneficial opportunity to me; I can’t wait to start the programme!
